Did you know that exchange fees vary?

The market is quite competitive and fees can vary considerably, depending of supply/demand for the particular ecurrency. Once I sold e-gold for a 0% fee because the exchanger (LGE) was keen to get their hands on e-gold -- all I had to pay was the bank fees to get it into my bank account. Later LGE's fees were back closer to normal. So shop around, every time you are buying or selling.

Recommended exchange services

Here are companies that can get your e-currency exchanges done. Depending on what digital currencies you're wanting to exchange and how much money you're changing, one of these services will suit better. [Disclaimer]

GoldNow

GoldNow is the cheapest I have found. Graham Kelly's company accepts funds from a wide range of e-currencies (including e-gold and INTGold) as well as your bank account. And also Graham will buy your e-currency funds and pay you into your local bank account. Other exchangers may be faster but this is the cheapest that I know. There is a lower price for bank transfers for Australians and perhaps some other countries. I have used GoldNow several times and also spoken to Graham twice.

E-TradeXchange

Most exchanges are processed within 4 hours at E-TradeXchange. Exchange fees vary from 1% to 5% over costs (costs are the fees they are charged from the payment processor you are exchanging from).

$5.00 - $10: 5%
$10.01 - $50: 4%
$50.01 - $100: 3%
$100.01 - $500: 2%
$500.01 - $1000 1%

My experience: I have seen their fast efficient deposits into two of my ecurrency accounts on a number of occasions. The only holdup once was when I didnt tell them the account number where I wanted the funds to go. Oops, silly me.

e-ForexGold

e-ForexGold operates in most countries and may have an account in the bank near you. You can buy, sell or exchange all e-currencies, including 1Mdc, e-Bullion, e-gold, GoldMoney, Pecunix, Standard Reserve, Technocash, etc.

Australians can benefit from a reduced bank transfer fee, so I am told. Because this company has offices in Australia. Some other countries too?

Getting funds into and out of your bank account

People ask me which company to use to get funds from their bank to one of the various digital currencies, or back to their bank again when they've made a profit they want to take home.

I've used LondonGoldExchange a number of times and been happy with them (though they're not as fast as I'd like -- well, we want everything done yesterday, don't we?). What I like about LGE is that I simply entered my bank details once and they are stored securely in their password-protected files so I dont have to risk a typo each time I want to move funds. Of course, if you don't want your records retained, you could simply delete them after each transaction.

GoldNow is another service I've used several times. Their time frame may be similar to LGE's but do your price-shopping and you may find their fees are lower.

e-gold

Can I buy e-gold with a credit card?  e-gold Exchange

Yes. The fee at GoldNow.st for purchasing e-gold with a credit card is 15%. Expensive but it can be done. The transaction took about 2 days, I'm told. GoldNow also allows you to buy e-gold with funds from your bank, at a much cheaper rate. I've used this company several times.

With GoldAge, you can deposit cash in a bank and they will fund your INTGold account.

PayPal

Exchanging your PayPal funds for anything else was either expensive or time-consuming or quite a run-around until recently when I found PayGoose. They will accept your PayPal funds (depositing fee = 5.5% + $1), and also you can withdraw your PayGoose funds to your PayPal account (withdrawal fee = $1). By the way, I havent yet used this service.

StormPay

StormPay into e-gold

Can it be done? Not that I know of. So I'd recommend you ask StormPay to issue you with a check. They will mail it to you at no cost. If you live outside the USA, your local bank will charge a fee (typically $10 in Australia) to convert your US dollar check and into a local currency deposit in your bank account. Then use those funds to buy e-gold via a service such as LondonGoldExchange or GoldNow.
